TO SPACE AND BEYOND!

Today is the 15th of May

Today we went to Kennedy space center or N.A.S.A!!
We went to  the place where they Launched Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17 and they all landed on the moon. But sadly the Challenger it blew up on take-off!!
But the sad thing is that they were doing a competition and take someone to space!
Image result for the challenger teacherA teacher won and the very very sad thing is, is that all the kids from her class were watching it when it blew up!! This is the teacher ------------>

We got to see the Atlantis space shuttle ahhhhhhhhhhh so cool!!!!!
They did a show before we saw it.
here it is --------------->
   STOP WAIT, we also went on a simulator of a take off and that was cool!!! Then we went down below the Atlantis. There was a slide there of how to get off the Atlantis!Jesse and I went down the slide lots of times! We leant lots about how the technology had to be developed for the space shuttle programme, and how many of our modern technologies have come from NASA (like cellphones, contact lenses, and long-life food). Now they are working on new technology to get astronauts to Mars - we saw the family of Rover vehicles that are on Mars now doing research, and the next exciting thing will be for people to go to Mars (they aim to do it by 2018, and when they go it will take a year of travel to get there - would you go to Mars?) There are SO many people involved in getting a space shuttle launched, thousands and thousands of workers, and we found out that you can have a career at Nasa if you are a smart thinker, and can come up with unusual and different ways to solve problems. Turns out maths is very important!
hope you come to N.A.S.A soon!!!!!!  I got a really cool snow globe of the Atlantis space shuttle. The next thing that we did was drove to Miami and it was very hard for my dad because the steering wheel was on the other side and driving on the other side of the road!    BYEE

  2. 'Turns out that maths is very important,' yes indeed it is!

    It sounds like the people who work at NASA could be learners at YMS where we develop smart thinkers who come up with unusual and different ways to solve problems. This looks like a fascinating visit.

    What an amazing adventure it must be to travel to space and look down on our world. Knowing people are doing this means it is very important to keep the lawns mown and the garden tidy. I look forward to your next post.
