American national museum of natural history...

Today it is Monday 2 May, today we went to the American national museum of natural history in New York - that was the best part of the day.  There were different special exhibitions, the one that we went to first was the butterfly one and in that exhibition there was a conservatory where they kept lots of different types of butterflies.  There was a wall before going inside which had specimens in glass cases. When we went in it was a blast like a volcano with live butterflies flying all around and the air was quite damp.  What I liked most was how they could land on you!

The Secret Inside You started with a blast of colour (little lights all around).  We walked around for a little bit, a guide talked to us about it and  there was a test with coloured buttons for your answers to find out what we knew;  I understood  that the tiny lights were  like bacteria which are all around us, inside of us and out. It was like walking through a human body!  I LOVED the Dark Universe in the planetarium there's TOO MUCH to talk about.......in the dinosaurs it just felt like we were soooooo tiny.

  1. Wow Violet. These are amazing experiences you are having already. How amazing to have butterflies landing on you. I have been in a butterfly enclosure in Singapore airport and I was fascinated by the colours. New York is my wife's favourite American city. I have never been so I am looking forward to more reports about your travels. Be safe.
