DAVID...

Today is the 3rd of May. We know what you are thinking- who is David? Well, that is the main thing today.
Today we woke up about 9:00 for breakfast we had bagels with jam on it, scrambled eggs and cut up tomatoes. When it was 10:00 a person came to the door guess what  his name was it was... David. David was  the tour guide and that was what we did today. I knew at the start he was nice and I was right. He was nice to Jesse and I and he was talking to us. We were going to stop at 4:00 pm but we stopped at 4:50 pm.

We went to a lot of places, including Central Park, The Plaza, and we went on the subway. My favorite was where the twin towers were destroyed. What happened was two planes hit both towers. If you want more info click on this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_11_attacks  search up 9/11. Here are some photos of what happened!!

A montage of eight images depicting, from top to bottom, the World Trade Center towers burning, the collapsed section of the Pentagon, the impact explosion in the south tower, a rescue worker standing in front of rubble of the collapsed towers, an excavator unearthing a smashed jet engine, three frames of video depicting airplane hitting the Pentagon.

After the tour we had Starbucks and went home, see you in the next post!! Wait one more thing it was a walking tour and we walked 11kms around Manhattan!! All of our feet are sore byee!

  1. This is a beautifully presented report. I love your use of paragraphs to break up the information into categories and your incorporation of photos and a hyperlink.

Now surely a New Yorker would be called 'Dave?' Great to hear that there are vegetables in New York. I love subways. I find it amazing how you hurtle underground and then pop up in a completely different part of the city. Maybe we could have a subway from YMS to a Starbucks? I am glad that you also walked around as I always find this a brilliant way to see and interact.

My wife is loving your blog posts! Keep them coming.

Oh... and another thing when you got out of the airport was it really noisy?
It was when we landed in L.A!
And dose everyone beep their horns all the time?

  4. 11km?! Another 10km and you would have walked a half marathon! :) This is a fantastic blog post Violet - great description and use of your punctuation. I almost feel like I'm there! It's always really interesting getting a tour isn't it? You can find out so much more than just reading about it. I love the supermarket called 'Wholefoods' in the States. Have you seen one yet? Have you tried the orange packet of peanut butter m & ms? Have fun! We are loving your posts.

  6. Hi Violet, it sounds like you're having a blast. I'm loving your blog posts, especially your photos that you are adding to them. Is it really busy? And what is it like being in a different country?
Also does the food taste different than it is in New Zealand?

Can't wait to see your next posts!

    I miss you so much,
    From Lulu, AKA Laura. :)
