The past few weeks the Year 6’s did some painting. It was collaborative art. It was fun and it was van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’. We learnt all about him and I did big brush strokes to create a mountain. I chose a small brush and used big strokes and lots of different shades of blue on the mountain to create a rolling effect. This was very fun!!! I know I said it two times. So it was hard but fun and everyone is very happy. We used SOLO to describe our learning and my thinking is at Multistructural because I can describe several things about van Gogh’s painting skills. My next step is Relational so I can describe several things about van Gogh paintings and explain why I used this skill in this way. Here it is!!!
This is simply fantastic! I have stood in front of Nuit étoilée at the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. It was a very moving experience. You and your fellow artists have created a wonderful reproduction. Do you think you will now try to develop your own distinct style? I look forward to seeing your next masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteViolet what a fantastic and informative blog post. I was so pleased with the way you took your time to experiment with colour and brushes. Your Mum told me today that you are actually going to see the real thing in New York - how exciting! Take a picture for me. Keep up the great posts!
