Ok, I can't lie. This is my last blog post. I have really enjoyed making this blog post. I want to thank every one who has visited this blog. I will have a blog at my next school. so... I hope you enjoy these photos bye!

My Novel Study!

In the past few week Rimu class have been doing a Novel Study. The class got to choose a book then we had to read and learn about the book. I chose to do the to book 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children'. I chose to do this book because I loved the quote "Follow your dreams". This side is every thing that I have done on it. Do you want a different site to learn your Basic Facts in?

For the past 6 weeks Rimu class have been on a math site called Prototec. It is a basic facts site and it has stages 1 to 8 in basic facts. You can take a challenge by timing yourself or just work on your basic facts and not do timed.

I love prototec because I can take my time. We have made a graph about it. And every week we record a test. We do a test every day but we record the best one. Here is my prototec record. Here is the Link for it. Hope you like it.

How will you be the change?

The past few weeks, Rimu class have been working on Digi Awards. There is a theme every year and this year was Be the change you want to see in the world. There was different Categories there was: Movie Making, Digital Art,  Digital sandpit, website creation and  green screen.

My group chose to do Digital sandpit and we filmed it on  minecraft. My group was Hannah, Prudence, Laura and I. We got told that we won something and we went to the ceremony at Burnside High. As it came up to are Category we all got worried. “3rd is… 2nd is...  1st is Yaldhurst Model School ‘Be the Change’”. We all ran up on the stage. As the video played we got given our prize - it was a Google cardboard!

Google cardboard is when you put your phone in the place and it feels like you are on a rollercoaster and there is so much more.  We found the editing very hard and the filming was not hard. Here it is. Hope you like it.

My speech!!

In the last few weeks Rimu have been learning how to write persuasive speeches. 

I was really trying to make eye contact and walk around. My speech was about how Animals SHOULD NOT be used for testing because i'm a vegetarian and I think that we are just the same as animals but we just learnt how to speak and build. I found writing the speech easy and doing my speech in front of the class hard I was scared that I would mess up and look bad in front of everybody!

Cycle Safe

Cycle safe!!

From the 29th to the 31st of August the Year 6s had Cycle Safe.

At first I didn't like it  because I felt that I had pressure on me. But then on the 30th I started to like it and like it and like it! Also by the end of it I realised it is good to be pushed out of your comfort zone. What I found hard was the signal, like the left hand signal the right hand signal and the stop signal. What I found easy was weaving and getting my helmet on safely.

My timetable for Term 3!

Here is my timetable for Term 3. We are changing it a little bit every week depending on what's happening and what we need to do. We mark ourselves green, orange or red depending on how well we managed our time in that slot. You can see my goals for the term at the top. I want to work hard on my Maths and my self management. This term I am looking forward to the DigiAwards - I'm going to make a movie! I'm also looking forward to doing Jump Jam and Winter Fun Day where we go skiing. My Mid Year Reflection

Air force Museum!

On week 7 Rimu went to the Air Force Museum.

Our teacher was called Chris and we all made thank you projects and I made a letter. So if chris looks at this thank you because I learnt a lot.

HERO Projects!

In the past few weeks Rimu has been making Hero projects. The class did it about their hero from nz. But I did my one on my holiday. I did my one on coconut trees! Did you know that a coconut was called coco in the 6th century! Here it is!

I was waiting at the airport and I was going to fly to new york and I saw lots of Airplanes coming in and it was very cool I am going with my friend and my boyfriend “he is a dream”. we are all 19 and we all went to the same high school. I saw a man and he “loved me” (I knew him from high school)! “I see the plane” said my boyfriend!
“I is yellow and got a Violin and a it was good because I had Eaten! and it Swept on the ground and it looked cool! the end.! for now!! duh duh duh duh duh.

LA! LEGOLAND!

Today is the 22nd of May

Today we went to LEGOLAND, legoland is a great place filled with great thing for all ages! Here is  a video about it.

The next thing that we did was we drove to the magic castle and YOU GOT ICE CREAM, and it was free!

CLOSED ON US!

Today is the 21st of May!

Today we went to a Navajo trading post in Navajo. No it is not for trading things, it is for buying things! We got something for Rylee, And it said what the word means!

After that we went to a museum but..... IT WAS CLOSED ON US! So rude. We learnt that the Native Indian people are the indigenous people of America, and they got a very bad deal from the treaties they signed with the white people. Navajo nation is a special area in the country where land and government has been given back to the Indian people, and they have their own justice system and everything. I loved the wooden hut in the picture below, and would like to live in it if it didn't have a dirt floor! Indians love horses and farming, and are very good at arts and crafts. I liked getting to see an artist painting on pottery with a traditional paint paste. 

Then we got back in the rental car and drove to the south rim of the grand canyon!

IT WAS CRAZY! Here are some photos! The grand canyon is hundreds of millions of years old, and has the Colorado River running through it. We also saw the Hoover Dam, but that was not very exciting. Its hard to get an idea of how HUGE the Grand Canyon is from looking at a picture. It was very windy, and we were worried that we would get blown off the edge, but it was still nice to sit and eat our lunch near the edge with that amazing view! We also visited a stone tower which was built in 1933 by a woman architect - that was a big deal for a woman to do that job back then, and the tower was beautiful, filled with Indian art on the walls and a skinny spiral staircase up four levels to the roof.

Then we got back in the rental car and it is a six seater because we had six people.. DUH

Then we drove to SAN DIEGO!

that was a 8 hour drive but because of we had stops it is 9!

When we got to the hotel they sold the rooms to other people!

So we had to go to another hotel! 

     BYEE!!

WWll. NEVER AGAIN!

Today is the 18 of May!

Today we went on a streetcar they look like this!

The streetcar took us to ww2 (World War two!)

That was very fun. World War II (WWII or WW2), also known as the Second World War, was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945 and that is a long time! We had Dog tags. it was very weird   because I was a boy! Dog tags" is an informal term for the identification tags worn by military personnel

After that we drove to the airport and flew to Houston!! Then we had one more and that one we flew to Las Vegas!!
